Licanias has handcrafted typical Sardinian nougat in various flavors and sizes since 2009. The ingredients used are exclusively high quality honey, carefully selected dried fruit, egg white and host of potato starch.

Particular attention is given to the heart of the island products for which only the use of Sardinian honey is guaranteed.

Tradition and innovation

 

The production of nougat has distant origins and the town of Tonara has been able to seize this great opportunity handed down for generations.

The procedures remain almost unchanged, the honey is heated in the cauldron until the humidity is almost completely eliminated, the egg whites are added until stiff and continues to turn until the mixture doubles in volume and does not reach cooking . At the end of the process, dried fruit is added.

It is then decided whether the dough will become a stick, stick or nougat. Today the mixture is no longer mixed by hand, but it is helped with machinery that facilitates the operation.

The company is BIO certified by CCPB and ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and its products are certified for ISO 22005 traceability.

It therefore has a BIO line and a Classic line.
